The University of Central Florida’s (UCF) vision for the new UCF Downtown campus is to create a successful world-class 21st century university environment in the urban center of downtown Orlando that transforms the way students learn and live. To realize this vision, the University will continue to rely on strong partnerships, the essence of UCF’s success, and a transparent process that informs and engages the entire community.

UCF Downtown will create a world-class, best-in-the-nation campus for digital media, communication, public service, and health-related programs in an innovative, urban environment. In partnership with Valencia College, the new campus will serve approximately 7,700 students in the heart of downtown Orlando.

This Community Outreach Plan is focused on the outreach efforts related to Phase 1 of the campus development scheduled to open and be operational in Fall 2019. The campus development for this phase includes the Center for Emerging Media (CEM) Renovation, the Dr. Phillips Academic Commons, Parking Garage, Tri-Generation Plant and Infrastructure Improvements. As additional UCF Downtown projects are awarded, this Plan may be updated and supplemented to include further outreach efforts.

The objectives of this Plan are:

  1. To inform the business community and local residents about contract opportunities for local, small, Minority/Women Business Enterprises and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (M/WBEs and SDVOSBs);

  2. To highlight UCF’s vision to create positive educational and economic impact within the Parramore and Downtown communities;

  3. To create a participatory process that engages the Parramore and Downtown communities and a broad spectrum of residents, businesses, faith and community-based organizational leaders, as well as UCF and Valencia team members;

  4. To educate stakeholders about the progress of all facilities on the UCF Downtown campus; and

  5. To coordinate the involvement of all project team partners, to ensure informative, seamless and consistent development of the UCF Downtown projects.
